In the musical theatre world we have shown our diversity creating costumes for a wide range of productions.
The musical theatre highlight from the last few years was undoubtedly designing and producing, along with Tim Goodchild, the costumes for Michael Rose’s new production of ELF.
The performers dressed as tiny Elves (on their knees) was our favourite design, along with the tacky ‘elf’ dressed workers in Macy’s department store, you’d never seen such glitz! Creating Ben Forster’s ‘Buddy the elf’ look was great fun with hand knitted gloves and leg warmers to help set off his beautiful green woollen suit! Finishing the cast in a beautiful cream finale set, laced with sparkling crystals, meant the show finished on a perfect christmas scene!
Watching Elf’s progress from the theatre Royal Plymouth, in it’s first year, to the Dominion Theatre in the second, was magical for all of us at Carry on and we would like to thank everyone involved for making our West end debut such a joy!
Past productions include “ELF”, “Big”, “Gypsy”, “Jesus Christ Super Star”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Anything Goes”, “Oklahoma”, “Les Miserables” “Smokey Joes Café”, “Wizard of Oz”, “Guys and Dolls”, “West side Story”, “Copacabana”, “My Fair Lady”, “Bugsy Malone” and “Wind In The Willows”
Feedback
“Sue and her team are literally amazing! They costumed our production of Rapunzel at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon.
We got 5 star reviews.
The costumes not only looked amazing but were easy to dance in too.
I kept asking for last minute changes and additions, and nothing was too much trouble.
All that and they are the loveliest bunch of people you could work with. I can’t recommend this company enough!”

“I went to the Gala performance at the Cambridge Arts Theatre last night and I have to write and tell you that I thought your costumes were absolutely stunning!!!!
They have to be the best off-West End costumes that I have ever seen.”
